System Overview
As of January 2026, Power usage has changed. Refer to Operation: Powering Up for how to turn on and off the lighting rig. The below information exists for reference only.
Control
Located in the booth there is an ETC Element 2, running Eos version 3.3.4.
Attached, there is a network switch, which is connected to a Wifi Access Point, and two additional computers. These additional computers run the architectural lighting system, and their implementation is documented over in the architectural system's advanced details section.
Power
TIP
This is purely informative for when running circuit calcuations to avoid tripping the breakers within the venue. The breakers are no longer necessary to be use for turning on and off the power to the grid. The old lighting circuit labels have been left in place for ease of use.
Breakers 1B, 5, and 7 to the left of the booth power the lighting above the stage.
Breaker 5 is the bottom outlet on each of the four pillars around the center house seating.
Breaker 7 is the top outlet on each of the four pillars around the center house seating.
Breaker 2B powers the entire lighting booth and the house lights. It also seems to power the fridgerator back stage.
Distribution
Circuit 5 powers some of the LEDs and one half the downstage dimmer box.
Circuit 1B is the upstage outlets behind the cyc, and one half of the upstage dimmer box.
Circuit 7 powers one half of the downstage dimmer box, and the remaining outlets
Circuit 2B powers half of the upstage dimmer box. THIS CIRCUIT SHOULD NOT BE TURNED OFF.
IMPORTANT
Breaker 2B powers the outlets in the shop and the lighting/sound console.
Data
DMX
DMX has two separate runs from the light board for partial redundancy. Both ports are the same universe and can be used interchangeably. The plan is to put just the Incandesent dimmer boxes on one run, with all of the LEDs on a second run.
sACN/Networking
A PoE network switch is temporarily on loan from Mapletwine Lighting, and is located in the lighting booth below the Element 2's monitor. This switch is connected to the console, and to the sACN network.
There is an sACN node running on a raspberry pi attached to the networking switch. This is related to the Architectural Control System located within the Yellow Barn.
