Relays/Outlet Troubeshooting

These are a list of known symptoms and possible causes/where to check first for failure.

In the event of an emergency or time-sensitive matter, contact Jade through call or text.

An outlet is not responding to commands

Ensure all breakers are turned on and the outlet itself has power.

Unplug the outlet box and plug it back in. Generally, this will resolve any orphaned issues, where the device was detached and reattached to the network.

This can be checked by seeing if something else on the same circuit is currently powered, or otherwise receiving power. Note that the dashboard's zigbee2mqtt tab can show detailed information regarding if a device is currently online.

Wait for at least 20 seconds before attempting to send another command to the device. During this time, please refrain from triggering a button station or changing the state within the lighting software.

Check if the device status can be viewed within the zigbee controller. There is a last-seen state in here.

An outlet cannot be manually controlled using the button on the side

In the event an outlet cannot be manually controlled using the button on the side, unplug and plug the outlet back in. This will quickly re-enable local control of the outlet. Alternatively, remove the outlet temporarily and restore it when done.
