Operation

In August 2025, Theatre NOVA received a new lighting console, an Element 2, from a grant, which allowed us to purchase a new lighting console and monitor solution.

The Element 2 is our lighting console, which replaces the previous Express console.

Powering up

1. Uncover the Element 2 and place the Element 2 cover somewhere safe. I tend to loop it over the railing to keep it off of the ground.
2. Wait for the Element 2 to fully boot. A Magic Sheet will automatically be shown which includes two large buttons: Fronts up, Fronts Out.
3. Press the Fronts Up button on the touch screen. If the Element 2's touchscreen fails to respond, use the black mouse sitting next to the Element 2 to control the mouse pointer, and click the desired target.

Power off

1. Turn off the Element 2 by pressing the power button at the upper right of the Element 2 once.
2. When prompted on the screen, press the POWER OFF text ON SCREEN.
