Emergency Override of Relayed Outlets
Steps to override
In the event of an emergency where an outlet has to be overridden, unplug the extension cord or other attached device and remove the smart plug temporarily.
Why isn't there an integrated way to override the outlet?
This is no different than unplugging an extension cord from the wall or plugging something in that otherwise would not be on. In the event of an emergency or going against typical show protocol, the best way to ensure the system does not change a state is to bypass it entirely.
As this homegrown architectural system is made to mimic a built-in architectural system, localized emergency or other override is not implemented. A built-in relay rack cannot be turned off at the outlet, and the typical behaviour in that system is to also unplug the load when necessary.
Safety Disclaimer
This architectural system has NOT been tested or certified to meet requirements for safety systems and therefore does not control any lighting systems that would otherwise be required in the event of an emergency or for fire code. There are no modifications to any building circuits or other architectural objects that would require more than a few seconds of work to bypass or remove.
